New Delhi: Indian two-wheeler manufacturer, Bajaj Auto on Friday has posted a decline of 13 per cent in its domestic sales to 278,776 units in October 2019. The company had reported the sales of 319,942 units in October 2018.
For Bajaj Auto, exports declined one per cent last month to 184,432 units as compared to 186,757 units in the month under review last year. Overall sales, on the other hand, were down by 9 per cent to 463,208 units.
Total motorcycle and commercial vehicle sales for the company were recorded at 398,913 units and 64,295 units, a dip of 8 per cent and 13 per cent, respectively.
Year-to-date sales (April-October) also witnessed a decrease of 6 per cent to 2,883,973 units as against 3,072,784 units in October 2018.
The company recently reported 21.23 per cent growth in its consolidated profit after tax (PAT) at Rs 1,523.32 crore for the second quarter ended September 30, 2019. According to the Pune based company, performance of Bajaj Auto was in line with the industry with retail market share at about 20 per cent.
