New Delhi: Iconic American motorcycle manufacturer Harley Davidson has revealed its first-ever electric model LiveWire.

The Harley Davidson LiveWire electric motorcycle will hit the roads soon and the company has announced free charging for the model’s customers.

The free charging facility will be available for two years in participating dealerships across the US.

Harley Davidson LiveWire customers will get 500 kWh charging services at Electrify America stations, the company revealed in a release.

Pricing of the motorcycle will be $29,799.

Harley Davidson also reveals in the release that this motorcycle will be available in 2019 through select dealerships in the US, Canada and major European countries. The availability will be expanded in 2020 and 2021 to other global markets.

This all-new electric motorcycle carries a premium look, signature Harley Davidson cruise appearance and a host of new technology.

The company claims, this motorcycle is capable of rapid acceleration thanks to its immediate torque generating H-D Revelation all-electric powertrain.

Built on a low NVH generating rigid aluminium frame and equipped with premium adjustable suspension components, the motorcycle comes with an optimized centre of gravity, says Harley Davidson in the release.

Harley Davidson LiveWire electric motorcycle can accelerate to 0-100 kmph in 3 seconds and it takes 1.9 seconds to reach 100-129 kmph mark. To charge the high-voltage battery fully, the motorcycle needs 60 minutes using DC Fast Charging (DCFC), while 0-80 per cent of the battery gets charged in just 40 minutes.

The LiveWire gets premium high-performance, fully-adjustable Showa BFRC mono-shock rear suspension, Showa SFF-BP front suspension, dual 300 mm Brembo monoblock front brakes, as the company claims.

It runs on 120 mm front and 180 mm rear wheels wrapped with high-performance H-D/Michelin Scorcher Sport tyres.

Among other features, the motorcycle receives Reflex Defensive Rider Systems, ABS, Cornering Enhanced Traction Control System, Drag-Torque Slip Control System, a 4.3-inch colour TFT touchscreen, seven different riding modes, Daymaker LED headlamp, H-D Connect etc.
