New Delhi: Electric two-wheeler maker 22Motors and Taiwan’s Kwang Yang Motor Company (KYMCO) will export their scooters manufactured in their Bhiwadi, Haryana facility according to media reports.
They also have plans to bring KYMCO’s electric models to India and further localise them.
As per the report, Parveen Kharb, Founder and CEO, 22Motors has mentioned that their scooter iFlow will be the first scooter that they will export to other markets. He further said that they are currently studying various markets across the globe.
He also stressed on infrastructure development for commuter segment is easier that the high power segment, which has higher prices.
The collaboration, 22KYMCO is in the process of setting up infrastructure for charging points and battery swapping stations in six cities where they will provide battery swapping services for Rs 500 inclusive of infrastructure use, battery cost and service costs.
The company will also move to premium segment with scooters like X-Town 300i ABS and Like200 which are gasoline-powered.
Kharb also stated in the report that they are not looking at volumes right now as they are positioned as a premium brand.
