New Delhi: Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India on Monday (HMSI) announced that the company has crossed 25 million sales mark in the scooter segment.
With this sales figure, the company is currently grabbing 57 percent of the total market share of scooter segment in India, as per HMSI release.
Commenting on the achievement, Yadvinder Singh Guleria, Senior Vice President – Sales and Marketing, HMSI said, “We thank our valued 25 million Honda scooter customers for trusting in the brand and making us the first choice of India. ”
“Over the years, love and trust of customers for Honda scooters keeps growing & taking this motivation ahead, Honda firmly aims to lead the next wave of scooterization which has already started in Tier-II and tier-III towns.”
After launching its highest-selling product Activa 18 years ago, the company expanded segment contribution from just 10 per cent in 2001 to the current 32 per cent in 2018. Apart from Activa, the present scooter portfolio of the company includes Grazia, Cliq and Dio.
