The new motorcycle is expected to be launched this month (July) and it seems that the company may launch it in a phased manner, starting from the northeastern market. With the Xtreme 200R, Hero MotoCorp will try to make a comeback in the premium/sports bike segment of India.

The manufacturer lost his foothold in the segment after the third major update to its sole premium sports bike – the Karizma, which failed to attract customers because of an unfamiliar design concept. The Xtreme 200R, however, is based on the company’s existing Xtreme Sports model.

Also, the price of the upcoming 200cc model is comparable to some of the 150cc motorcycle, which might give a good mileage to Hero in the premium bike market.

The Xtreme 200R comes with features like seven-step adjustable rear monoshock suspension, 130 section rear radial tyre and disc brake on both the front and rear wheel. The company will also offer ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) as an optional extra.
